Sara

author: Fleetwood Mac

Written by Stevie Nicks.

Wait a minute baby
Stay with me awhile
Said you'd give me light
But you never told me about the fire

Drownin', in the sea of love
Where everyone would love to drown
But now it's gone, it doesn't matter what for
So when you build your house, then call me home

Oooooooo..
And it was just like a great dark wind
Within the wings of a storm
I think I had met my match
He was singin'
And undoing and undoing
The laces, undoing the laces

He said "Sara, you're the poet in my heart
Never change, never stop..."
But now it's gone, it doesn't matter what for
But when you build your house, well then, call me home

Hold on the night is comin'
And the starling flew for days
And I would stay home at night all the time
I could go anywhere - anywhere - anywhere

Ask me and I'm there, yeah
Ask me and I'm there, I care
In the sea of love where everyone would love to drown
But now it's gone, they say it doesn't matter any more
Well, if you build you house then please call me, call

Sara, you're the poet in my heart
Never change, and don't you ever stop..."
But now it's gone, No, it doesn't matter anymore
When you build your house, I'll come by

Ooooooooo, Sara
Ahhhhhhh, Oooooooo

Oh...Oooooooo, Sara, baby
There was a heartbeat and it never really died
Yes it never really died
Oh will you swallow your pride

All I ever wanted was to see you dream

Sitek's letter, written on a yellow legal pad and tacked to the wall of the band's Brooklyn recording studio, subsequently became the impetus for the new TV on the Radio album Dear Science. It's the band's third full-length album and the follow-up to 2006's Return to Cookie Mountain, which saw the band grow out of the New York art-rock underground. (Sitek's entire letter serves as the liner notes to the new album, to be released Tuesday.)
